Our Story
Vox Theatre is a creative performance company dedicated to bold storytelling, artistic collaboration, and meaningful connection. We bring classic and contemporary works to life through innovative productions, immersive festivals, and dynamic workshops. At our core, we are passionate about creating spaces where artists and audiences can connect, explore, and be inspired.
Who We Are
Vox is an artist-led, independent theatre company based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Our name is derived from the Latin for 'voice,' and our community is a hive of fresh ideas and colourful opportunities in a multitude of theatre styles.
What We Believe
Our values of kindness, creativity, and community resonate perfectly with our mentorship programs and inclusive opportunities. We want to make beautiful theatre, we want everyone to feel valued and appreciated - and have a great time doing it!
How We Work
Our theatre is an artist-led, independent theatre. Our Executive Team operates on an annual basis, and our Production Teams run for short periods for specific shows. Everyone in Vox pays an annual membership fee ($25) which covers their insurance and admin for a full year, regardless of how many shows they do.
We plan for the full year of shows, and invite our community to submit ideas for the following year that they would like to champion.
All profit from shows goes straight back into the theatre for licensing, venue, and show-running costs. Our teams are all volunteers who have full time jobs elsewhere - so please be patient and kind with us too!
